'Sakura' is written in the Japanese alphabet for foreign words, katakana,
usually reserved for new words or names. As such, most choose to leave this 'sakura' as is, instead of translating the Japanese
word to "cherry blossom". 'Taisen' is written with two Japanese kanji, or traditional Chinese characters. The first,
'tai' is "big", and 'sen' is "fight". A "big fight" is a "war".

'Teikoku' in written with the characters for "imperial". The character for 'ka'
could mean "flower" or "majestic"; for some reason, no one decided to use either. 'Geki' is written with the character for
"theater". 'Dan' is written with the character for "group". For myself, I use "Imperial Acting Troupe".
Since we're talking about the Imperial Theater, 'Dai Teikoku Gekijou' means "the
Grand Imperial Theater".

From what you see in the above entry, I use "acting" for that version of 'geki'
and the similar sounding "attacking" for this one. And, following ADV's translation of 'dan', I use "troupe" (as in a circus
troupe) and "troop" (as in a military troop): alternate spellings of the same word.

"Otome-gumi" = Maiden Division; in ST2, a Tsubomi Nonomura comes from
the Otome Gakuen and replaces Tsubaki for a time (Otome-gumi is probably the name used for students that
study there)

1 is 1912.)
